HER MAJESTY LP

STUDENT PROJECT, 2016

A redesign of The Decemberists' second album, Her Majesty. Photographic elements were combined with textile art to integrate the illustrative style used by the band. A sleeve made of tarlatan was added to reflect ideas presented in the album of a person becoming obscured through their intricate narrative songs.

PROCESS

Research was conducted about the album and the art that is used in the band's other albums. Sketches and a costume were created before shooting. The embroidered sleeve and felt banners pictured inside were embroidered by hand based on doodles done while brainstorming and listening to the album.
